#6: Hush

To hush can be read as an injunction to silence and to secrecy. It can also be read as a call to quietude and to reflection. What does hush mean to us? While silence is a terrifying notion for a lot of us, striving for excitement in our youth, it is also a real luxury.

#5: After-Images

This issue is a bit of a time capsule of our pandemic experience, an afterimage of the magazine it was supposed to be in 2020. An impression superimposed on a new background, a lingering memory we didn’t want to give up quite yet.

#2: Orientation

Our Orientation issue is dripping with sass and sarcasm. It’s how we communicate here at The Howl Mag. If you ever need a laugh or a place to express yourself, come check out The Howl Mag team.

#4: Obsession

In this issue, we ask the question: why do we fixate & devote ourselves to certain things? We examine the many ways (both mundane and extreme) that “obsession” can manifest, from pop culture guilty pleasures to larger culture-wide obsessions.

#3: Limbo

In this issue, we wanted to explore the constant state of change that is magnified by both being in university and in the city. We explore this limbo, through nostalgic music tastes, liminal spaces, the constant draw of dropping out and much more.
