Dream Mixtapes

Revitalizing a lost art of communication.

Thoughts | Michaela Fuchs, Dan Rona, Madeline Taylor

Unfortunately, mixtapes are a thing of the past, but that does not mean we cannot imagine a dream playlist we wish our crushes would give us. Mixtapes help communicate any emotions we may have, whether they are positive or negative. A few writers at The Howl Mag decided to create these “mixtapes” as a way to revitalize the lost art–maybe even give hints to those special ones in our lives.

Dan Rona

This is the mixtape you wish they would send you when you are newly together and the sexual tension is running high. It is a mixtape that shows their attraction to you, and their desire to be physical.

Madeline Taylor

The mixtape you wish he sent you after your breakup, but now looking back it’s probably best that he didn’t because you don’t need external validation from an ex that YOU’RE AMAZING (and tbh, if he had, you might still be together fighting about the same damn things).

Michaela Fuchs

This is the dream mixtape of cliche, cheesy love songs. Essentially I am embracing all the classics–with a few modern ones. If someone gave me this mixtape, I would know that they have a good taste in music AND are hopeless romantics. It’s a win-win!

  1. “For You” - The Abigails

  2. “Home” - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

  3. “Hello” - Lionel Richie

  4. “Let’s Get It On” - Marvin Gaye
